Free time in Toronto in the morning and early afternoon, and Blue Jays vs Minnesota Twins game in the late afternoon (4:07pm start)
Homestay participants may join for the whole day, traveling on the school buses with the Japanese students. The buses will leave at 8:30am and be back at Ridley around 8:30pm. Alternatively, you may join the group for the Blue Jays game (meeting at the CN Tower at 3pm), using your own transport.
The students will spend the morning and early afternoon exploring Toronto, with some suggestions from their teachers (such as the aquarium, CN Tower, Eaton Centre etc). Homestay families are welcome to join their students during this free time or spend the time separately. The whole group will then meet at the CN Tower at 3pm to go together into the Rogers Centre through the group entrance. We have very good seats on the first base line, close to the front of the second level, giving an excellent view of the action.
Who can join: We have 15 Blue Jays tickets available for interested homestay family members. If interest is high, we may be able to make more tickets available but cannot guarantee seating together with the group.
Since our program teachers will be focused on the Japanese students, homestay children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children from multiple homestay families may attend with one designated homestay adult.
How much does it cost:
With transport on the school bus: $75/person
Using own transport: $60/person
Homestay participants will be responsible for purchasing their own meals. Homestay families who use their own vehicles will not receive any mileage payment.
How do I pay:
The total cost will be deducted from your homestay fee payment (made by Interac transfer or by cheque on July 24 and 25). Tickets are non-refundable: once you book tickets via our RSVP form, they are yours and will be deducted from your homestay fee payment regardless of whether you attend the excursion/game.
RSVP info: The deadline to purchase tickets is July 6th. The opportunity is first-come, first-serve!
